Late at night on the 3rd of August, KAUNAS PHOTO outdoor exhibition in Chechnya square showing Berta Tilmanataitė’s series „Out of the Water“ was damaged.
Damage shows not only on the banners themselves, but also on the supporting constructions holding the photographs. Supporting poles were pulled out and used as tools to batter the exhibition and the surrounding buildings, where the doors and windows of a lcoal cleaning company were broken. The photographs remained intact, however the information stands were ruined.
This is the second attack on KAUNAS PHOTO exhibitions in Chechnya square. In 2016 the exhibition “Georgia 08 08 08” by Artūras Morozovas was wrecked, however the perpetrator was found immediately and damage compensated.
